Internationals Shut Out as Glorious Forever Claims Hong Kong Cup

Mark Smith - Sunday December 9

The full brothers Glorious Forever (GB) and Time Warp (GB) looked to be enjoying their sibling rivalry in Sunday's Group 1 Longines Hong Kong Cup at Sha Tin as they set a steady pace on a track that had been favouring front-runners all day.

The pair had run each other into the ground in The Bochk Cup at their most recent starts but it was a different story here as they entered the home straight the chasing pack were making hard work to claw back the margins.

It was a second win on the day for Frankie Lor after Mr Stunning claimed the Sprint and completed a domination by the locals in all four Group 1's.

A winner of two of his eight starts in England, Glorious Forever (GB) came to Hong Kong off the back of a win at Sandown back in September last year.

His overall record stands at 6 wins, 4 seconds and a third from 16 starts.

The son of the Stormy Atlantic mare Here To Eternity joins his Hong Kong Derby winning brother Time Warp in the Group 1 club.

The brothers are by the deceased Kingmambo stallion Archipenko who stood his entire career at Lanwades and also shuttled to Argentina before his death 12 months ago.

Archipenko is also the sire of Chris Waller's recent Group III Festival Stakes winner My Nordic Hero (GB).
