More Stakes Success for Star Witness Mare

Winless since taking out a Listed race at Flemington during the 2017 Melbourne Cup Carnival, talented sprinting mare Our Crown Mistress was back to her best at Doomben on Saturday when scoring an all the way win in the Listed BRC Just Now Quality.

Our Crown Mistress - Grant CourtneyPrepared by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, the dashing grey daughter of Star Witness was fit and ready to fire, leading throughout for Brett Preblle to win the 1350 metre contest by a long neck.

A $200,000 Magic Millions purchase for McKeever Bloodstock from the Kitchwin Hills draft, Our Crown Mistress has five wins and two placigns from 10 starts with prizemoney just in excess of $280,000.

She is the second winner from Barangaroo, a metro winning Fastnet Rock mare from the family of Champion Miler Racing to Win.

An eye-catching grey like Racing to Win, Our Crown Mistress owes her grey colouring to third dam Sunset Beach, a daughter of influential grey shuttler Kenmare (Fr).

Barangaroo produced a full brother to Our Crown Mistress this spring.

Our Crown Mistress is one of 14 stakes-winners for Star Witness, who has 26 entries for Magic Millions, 41 for Inglis Classic and nine for Inglis Premier.
