Rosina Kojonup keeps brilliant family record going

Craig Tompson - Wednesday December 5
Rosina Kojonup continued on her winning way on Wednesday, adding more to the burgeoning broodmare career of her dam Courgette.

Rosina Kojonup as a yearlingCourgette's first foal She Will Reign, famously purchased for just $20,000, became a dual Group One winner, including the Golden Slipper.

And in the past two months, her next two foals have had four starts for four wins, with the latest Rosina Kojonup making it two starts for two wins this campaign when stepping up to a Benchmark 70 successfully, no mean feat coming off the maiden win last time.

Trained by Bjorn Baker, she is by Shamus Award and went through the sale ring s part of Yarraman Park Stud's draft, selling to Attunga Stud and Blandford Bloodstock for $425,000.

In a race where the last 600m sectional was the fastest of the day, the comfortable win would suggest her own black type success is not far away.

The same could also be said for Courgette's two-year-old, Time To Reign (by Time For War) who has stamped himself a star of the future in the same period, winning both his starts to date and currently sits on the second line of betting for the 2019 Golden Slipper.
