Group One Winner Added to Arqana Breeding Stock Sale

Media Release - Friday November 23
The impressive winner of the Group I Qatar Prix Marcel Boussac courtesy of a last-to-first rush less than 24 hours after being purchased by Martin Schwartz at the Arc Sale, LILY'S CANDLE is a late addition to the 2018 Arqana Breeding Stock Sale.

She will be offered by Haras des Capucines , Saturday 8 December as lot 160.

The daughter of Style Vendome hails from the finest family nurtured by Monique and Antoine Lepeudry at their Elevage de Tourgeville. Her dam is a half-sister to LILISIDE, who lost victory in the Gr.1 Poule d'Essai des Pouliches in the stewards' room and is now part of Katsumi Yoshida's elite broodmare band at Northern Farm. LYS GRACIEUX, Liliside's daughter by Heart's Cry, is a multiple place-getter at the highest level and she recently upgraded LILY'S CANDLE pedigree page with victory in the Gr.1 Queen Elizabeth II Cup at Kyoto. This is also the family of ROBIN OF NAVAN and MING ZHI COSMOS, now at stud in Australia.

Group 2 performer DIANA STORM takes lot 150and will be consigned by Ecurie des Monceaux from the yard of Waldemar Hickst. The four-year-old daughter of Soldier Hollow is a full sister to German champion DSCHINGIS SECRET, winner of the Gr.1 Grosser Preis von Berlin and five more Group events. Having taken second place in the Gr.2 T von Zastrow Stutenpreis at three, she filled the same placing in the L. Prix Zarkava over a mile and a half on her seasonal bow and recently took 3rd in the L. Prix Dahlia over a mile and a quarter.

Also offered as a racing prospect, NOBLESSE OBLIGE (lot 180) is amongst the best juvenile fillies in Italy. A daughter of Myboycharlie from LE BRIVIDO's close family, she won a Listed event over 6 furlongs by three and a half lengths, September 6, before backing up in the Gr.3 Premio Dormello over a mile where she defeated the favourite courtesy of a sharp turn of foot. She has joined John Hammon's yard on the back of this performance.

Consigned by HSV Agency, MOONLIGHT IN PARIS (lot 150) becomes the sixth mare in foal to Siyouni to be offered at the Breeding Stock Sale. The daughter of Literato and relative to LADY'S SECRET won her first three starts for Jean-Claude Rouget and was only narrowly beaten in the Gr.3 Prix de Lieurey.

These four Wild Card entries join DEVANT, the winner of the Gr.3 Prix Miesque who will go under the hammer as lot 170.
