Juvenile Trial Watch – Rosehill

Four juvenile heats at Rosehill on Monday were won by some well bred youngsters including the full brother to one of last seasons quickest pre-Christmas two year-olds and the full brother to a Group I New Zealand 1,000 Guineas winner.

Nuclear Summit as a yearlingA $150,000 Magic Millions Book Two purchase from the Eureka Stud draft for James Moore Bloodstock, two year-old colt Nuclear Summit is a full brother to Ef Troop, who was one of the top fancies for the 2018 Magic Millions 2YO Classic.

The Gary Moore trained Spirit of Boom colt Nuclear Summit showed all the precocious brilliance of his full brother when bounding straight to the front and leading all the way to win his 900 metre heat by two and a half lengths.

Running the Aquis Farm colours for a syndicate that also includes Gary Moore Racing and partners, Nuclear Summit is from Exceed and Excel mare Limealicious.

Having his second trial the Bjorn Baker trained Holy Roman Emperor (IRE) colt Grand Emperor showed good natural pace to lead and held off all challengers to score a comfortable three-quarter length win in his 900 metre trial clocking 54.23 seconds, which was the quickest of the four two year-old heats.

Grand Emperor as a yearlingA $160,000 NZB Book One purchase from the Curraghmore draft for Ohukia Lodge, Grand Emperor is a full brother to Champion New Zealand Filly Rollout the Carpet and is from Out of Egypt (USA).

Other heat winners were Athiri (Lonhro) and Miss Amelia (More Than Ready (USA), who is from former brilliant Group II ATC Silver Slipper winner Amelia’s Dream and has now won both of her two trials to date. Click here to see all the results

Impressive First winner for Armory
