Inglis Riverside Stables Crowned Project of the Year

Media Release - Wednesday November 14

Inglis' world-class Riverside Stables complex has been crowned Project of the Year at the inaugural Western Sydney Leadership Dialogue's Boomtown! awards ceremony.

Western Sydney's newest five-star tourism and events destination, the $140m Inglis Riverside Stables complex defeated a host of impressive finalists for the prestigious top award.

Riverside Stables – featuring the William Inglis Hotel, an integrated, air-conditioned parade and sales area accommodating up to 1000 guests and featuring stabling for 800 horses, permanent hospitality suites and a ringside dining service – opened in January of this year.

Not only has it held successful horse sales in its debut year but has also become a go-to venue for conferences, weddings, parties and community events.

The $140m investment has delivered the country's finest equine auction facility, and when combined with its purpose-built events centre and hotel, has set a new benchmark when it comes to tourism, hospitality and conferencing in Western Sydney, attracting thousands of national and international visitors to the region.

The award was presented to Inglis Managing Director Mark Webster by Federal Minister for Cities, Urban Infrastructure & Population, Alan Tudge, in front of a sold-out room of 500 leaders in property, infrastructure, business and community.

"We're extremely proud of what we have delivered with Riverside Stables and The William Inglis Hotel and we're grateful the Greater Western Sydney community has supported it in its infancy especially,'' Mr Webster said.

"We used the 26-acre site to not only build the world's best equine auction house but to also provide a facility to the community worthy of their support and to be recognised for that so early on is a testament to the hard work and dedication of a lot of people.

"I would like to thank every consultant, contractor and tradesman who have helped create Riverside Stables, with special mention of our project managers Podia Advisory and builder FDC. Liverpool Council has also been fantastic to deal with, as have Accor Hotels and the NSW Government.

"The support and backing of the Inglis board and shareholders has been an inspiration in the implementation of Riverside Stables and we look forward to it remaining one of Sydney's leading tourism and hospitality destinations.''

Western Sydney Leadership Dialogue chairman, Christopher Brown AM, said Riverside Stables "delivers an experience like no other in the region''.

"It has already welcomed a range of corporate conferences and regional celebrations, including the Aerotropolis Summit hosted by the Premier and Prime Minister for local and global participants,'' Mr Brown said.

"In a highly competitive field, the Inglis development stood out due to its first-class design, build and impact in re-shaping Liverpool.

"Inglis has invested heavily in this project and gone to great lengths to ensure it reflects the proud racing history of the company."
