2YO’s Set to Fly on Cup Day

Tara Madgwick - Monday November 5
There's more to racing on Mebourne Cup Day than just the Cup with a hot field of two year-old fillies set to start the program in the Group III VRC Ottawa Stakes including last start stakes-winner Champagne Boom and the much hyped Sisstar, the full sister to Saturday's Group I winner Sunlight.

Sisstar is the full sister to SunlightSpirit of Boom's Champagne Boom is the testing material, looking well above average on debut when charging home to win the Listed MRC Debutante Stakes last month for the Lindsay Park team.

She'll likely face a stiff challenge from the Tony McEvoy trained Sisstar, a $600,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Widden Stud draft and also Still Single, a $500,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Vinery draft that has trialled well for the Chris Waller stable.

Also of interest are runners by first season sires Brazen Bea and Wandjina.
