One To watch - Mornington

Breednet - Thursday October 11
Two Widden sires combined to bring us our one to watch from Mornington on Thursday with an impressive new Zoustar winner.

Zoumanor as a yearlingMaking his debut, the Robbie Laing trained Zoumanor was a well backed second favourite and showed good natural speed to sit outside the lead before producing a good turn of foot to take control of the race into the straight and won like a horse that will graduate out of the maiden class successfully.

Zoumanor is by Zoustar out of the Stratum mare Eramor, a stakes winner of the Listed Debutante Stakes at Caulfield as a juvenile.

He was purchased by Robbie Laing, Ray Montague and Neil Jenkinson for $200,000 at the 2017 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale from the draft of Musk Creek Farm.

The colt becomes the 13th winner so far this season for Zoustar who sits atop the second season sires list by prizemoney and second by winners.

He has two colts listed for sale at next week’s Inglis Ready2Race Sale and one at the NZB Ready To Run Sale of 2YOs in November.

Zoumanor is the second foal of Eramor and first winner. She has a two-year-old by Toronado, wasn’t served in 2017 and was sent to So You Think last season.
