The Brett Thompson-Ben Looker combination appear a danger to bookmakers in the final two races on the program with early speed the key factor despite complete opposite barrier draws for the two runners.

The Benchmark 55 Handicap (1000m) was split at acceptance time with both races carrying full fields giving Thompson and Looker the chance to win two races.

Coasting didn't fare well in the barrier draw in the first division - Race 7 with the barrier gods much kinder to stablemate Attalea drawing the inside gate for the second division – Race 8.

Both horses have the early speed to overcome the wide gate in the case of Coasting whilst Attalea has enough early toe to take advantage of the favourable draw.

Coasting will be chasing his third career win from five starts after winning at Tamworth resuming on June 24 over 1000m and a last start victory at Cowra in class one company over 950m.

Tinmine looks the likely leader and should give Coasting a cart across the field with the Thompson galloper sitting second two-wide outside the leader.

If that speed map scenario eventuates and it is the highest probability in the race, win number three looks well within Coasting's grasp.

Attalea resumes from a 186-day break between races without a trial on Tuesday but it is worth noting the four-year-old was a winner at the track and distance resuming last preparation racing away to record a seven-length victory.

Whilst the win was on a heavy (9) track surface Attalea showed he could handle good ground by running a close second at Gilgandra at his next start.
