Another Zoustar Salutes

Tara Madgwick - Sunday September 16
The reigning Champion First Season Sire, Zoustar has opened up a quick early lead on the Australian Second Season Sires List adding an eighth winner to his tally with a Geelong victory on Sunday for promising gelding Starvirgo.

Starvirgo as a yearlingTrained by Anthony Freedman, Starvirgo had the benefit of race fitness on his side at his second run back from a spell and was determined to the line to score a short half head win in the 1325 metre maiden.

Gelded after an initial four start campaign in which he finished fifth in a Listed race in Brisbane, Starvirgo has obviously returned in good order and can win more races for his big team of Slade Bloodstock owners.

A $180,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Woodside Park draft for Slade Bloodstock, Starvirgo is the first winner for Lady La Douce, a metro winning grand-daughter of stakes-winner Prima Cornice.

The best son of Northern Meteor to go to stud, Zoustar has done all that could be asked of him so far and is fully booked this spring at Widden Stud at the increased fee of $60,500.
