Quality Rich Hill Roster Draws the Numbers

Media Release - Wednesday August 29

Rich Hill Stud's stallions were showcased before an enthusiastic audience of nearly 300 at the Walton farm during Saturday's New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders' Association Gavelhouse Waikato Stallion Parade.

With a beautiful spring morning to accommodate, many were keen to see the new stallion Satono Aladdin, the Japanese Group One winning miler son of global sire-sensation Deep Impact.

The support cast of Vadamos (Monsun), Shocking (Street Cry), Proisir (Choisir) and Jimmy Choux (Thorn Park) also all drawing their own admirers.

"The feedback we received in the week prior parading Satono Aladdin suggested we had a stallion that was going to gain widespread approval," Rich Hill's John Thompson said.

"That's never taken for granted with everyone seeing something different in a horse, but he certainly did not disappoint. Most in attendance on Saturday were well-taken by his physical size, presence and athleticism."

Among those to give Satono Aladdin the nod was leading bloodstock agent Phill Cataldo.

Group 1 Prix Du Moulin winner Vadamos is always guaranteed to turn heads, and he again reinforced his reputation as one of the world's finest looking stallions. Having bred 159 mares in 2017, Thompson reports he is popular for this season coming.

Always a crowd favourite, Jimmy Choux is well remembered for his five sensational Group 1 wins. A wonderful season by (The) Bostonian and his second crop of three-year-olds sees demand for his services rise and a busy breeding season ahead.
