Star Witness 2YO Wins Trial

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday August 28
The first two year-old trial in Sydney of the new season was run at Randwick on Tuesday morning with Mark Newnham producing a very smart Star Witness colt.

Exceed the Stars as a yearlingA dashing chestnut very similar to this sire, Exceed the Stars jumped fairly for Tommy Berry to travel third in the run before lengthening stride down the running to win under his own steam with his ears pricked.

Exceed the Stars runs in the colours of Darby Racing and was a $220,000 Magic Millions purchase for Darby Racing/ De Burgh Equine from the Tyreel Stud draft.

Exceed the Stars is from Exceed and Excite, a winning half-sister by Exceed and Excel to Group I winner Choice Bro.

Sta Witness has made a quick start to the new season with 19 winners already highlighted by his unbeaten stakes-winning colt Graff. He stands at Widden Stud at a fee of $33,000.
