One to Watch – Sale - Expensive Fastnet filly breaks through

Breednet - Thursday August 16
She was the third highest priced Fastnet Rock filly last year and Downloads finally got the maiden win out of the way at Sale on Thursday.

Downloads as a yearlingThe Hayes/Dabernig trained filly had turned in an excellent eye-catching debut back in January in the Blue Diamond Preview (Gr3) where she gave away a big start before rattling home out wide to be beaten less than a length into fourth place.

Two subsequent starts at Group Two and Listed level in Melbourne and Adelaide saw her beaten out of the placings while not disgraced, only three lengths behind the winner each time.

Resuming for her three-year-old campaign on Thursday however saw her dropped back to the maiden grade and after racing up on the speed never looked in danger, winning by just under a length.

Downloads was knocked down for $850,000 to Dean Hawthorne Bloodstock from the Bhima Stud draft at the 2017 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

She is by Fastnet Rock out American bred Hennessy mare Dance Mix, a half-sister to Gr3 winner Musidora (dam of Tulips and Sacred Eye) and from the family of Flying Spur.

She is the second foal, and second winner for her dam who missed the following two years and was sent to Fastnet Rock again last season.
