One to Watch – Geelong

Tara Madgwick - Friday August 10
This nicely bred daughter of champion sire Redoute’s Choice made a one act affair of the 1000 metre maiden at Geelong on Friday.

Absaroka as a yearlingYet another promising three year-old from the powerful Hayes/ Daberbig training team at Lindsay Park, Absaroka was a short priced favourite at her first run back from a spell having only had two previous starts both of them in stakes races back in March.

Not beaten far when fourth and sixth in either of those Black Type races, Absaroka appreciated the drop in grade to win as she pleased.

She jumped fast from the inside gate and led all the way for Chris Parnham to win eased down by six lengths.

A $375,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Davali Thoroughbreds draft for Echo Beach Bloodstock, Absaroka was bred by the Towell family of GT Park and is the second winner for Group II placed More Than Ready (USA) mare Montana Sunset.

A half-sister to Group II winner Montana Flyer, Montana Sunset has a yearling colt by Pierro and is due to foal to American Pharaoh (USA).
