Smart Winner for Eurozone

Promising young Northern Meteor son Eurozone already has a stakes-winner from his first crop in Krone and added another smart winner to his tally on Friday with an easy victory for In Her Zone.

EurozoneThe John Gilmore trained filly was second at her first two starts at the Gold Coast and showed the benefit of race fitness and experience when leading all the way to win by a length and three-quarters at Ballina in the 1010 metre maiden.

A $20,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale purchase from the Kenmore Lodge draft for his trainer, In Her Zone is the third winner for Lady Gretchen, a half-sister by Don Eduardo to Group III placed Bound to Blush from the family of Group I winners Keeper and Metal Bender.

In Her Zone is the third winner for Eurozone, who has also had a further seven place-getters this season with stakes-winner Krone his standout performer.

Eurozone stands at Newgate Farm at a fee of $11,000 this spring.
