Breeder Bonus for G1 Tarzino Trophy

Media Release - Friday July 13

The breeder of the winner of this year's Group I Tarzino Trophy (1400m) will receive a bonus.

TArzinoA free service to Tarzino, valued at $15,000 + GST, will be on offer courtesy of race sponsors The Tarzino Syndicate.

"Hawke's Bay Racing are delighted with the announcement of a breeder's bonus being attached to the Tarzino Trophy this year, and we are extremely appreciative of the generous support we receive from The Tarzino Syndicate and Westbury Stud on the day," Hawke's Bay Racing chief executive Andrew Castles said.

The Tarzino Trophy will be run at Hastings on September 1 and first nominations close next Tuesday.

"We have great confidence in the horse, and both The Tarzino Syndicate and Westbury Stud felt that it was important to recognise the contribution of the breeder in the running of the season's first Group One race, while being the first of the Cancer Society Racedays in the spring, it is important for us to get everyone in racing behind the day," Westbury Stud general manager Russell Warwick said.
