Bon Aurum to Glen Eden

Breednet - Monday July 9
Bon Aurum will commence stud duties in the 2018 season standing at Glen Eden, Kilmore VIC alongside Al Samer, Illustrious Blue and Scintillo.

Bon AurumSonia O'Gorman, manager of Glen Eden, is thrilled to have such a great opportunity.

"I believe he ticks all the boxes to become a great sire.

-He won as a 2yo

-His wins were from 1200m to 1400m

-He is a 4-time stakes winner including a Group 1 and Group 3.

As a bonus he is also an impressive looking individual standing at 16.1 hands. He has great presence, scope, strength and correct conformation all attributes to compliment producing good racehorses as well as impressive yearling types for the sales." – Sonia O'Gorman

Bon Aurum is free of Danehill making him a great option for many mares in Australia.

Trained by Ciaron Maher Bon Aurum was held in high regard in the stable with Ciaron and the staff professing he was an impressive racehorse with a great temperament.

" Bon Aurum was a tough horse with a remarkable will to win! He was trained on from being a 2-year-old winner to be a dual stakes winner at 3 before winning a Group 1 in the spring Carnival of his 4-year-old career. He was an exceptional athlete; a beautiful physical type and I look forward to training his progeny for years to come" – Ciaron Maher

Ken King who bred BON AURUM by his stallion BON HOFFA rates him better than his sire both on type and track performance. Ken goes on to say "BON HOFFA's been a great stallion for owner breeders who want to produce a top-class racehorse at a reasonable price and we are confident his G1 winning son BON AURUM can emulate and even better his deeds, we'll certainly be supporting him with our band of broodmares and look forward to sending his progeny to our 1st class trainers"

His 2018 fee is $5,500 inc GST. With Bon Aurum's credentials you would expect him to be standing at a much higher price. The decision was made to stand him at a lower fee giving owners/breeders great value for money. In this price bracket Bon Aurum is the only freshman sire in 2018 standing in Australia that is a Group 1 winner.
