Group Three Winner for Sepoy

Tara Madgwick - Thursday July 5
Classy four year-old Sepoy mare Indian Blessing was a stakes-winner in France at the end of last season and hit top form in Germany on Wednesday with a stylish win in the Group III Sparkasse Holstein Cup at Hamburg.

SepoyPrepared by Ed Walker, Indian Blessing was favourite for the 1m contest and strode clear an easy length and a half winner taking her overall record to three wins and four placings from 12 starts.

Indian Blessing made 95,000 euros as a yearling at Arqana and then was re-offered at the 2016 Arqana May Breeze Up Sale where she made 170,000 euros to the bid of Sackville Donald.

Indian Blessing is one of eight stakes-winners for Sepoy and is a half-sister to stakes-placed Montalbano and Glade from the good producer Alpen Glen, who comes from the family of Australian Group I winners Helmet and Epaulette.

Sepoy has had a good season in Australia siring the winners of over $5.2 million in prizemoney, his highlight horse being dual Group I winning filly Alizee.

The Golden Slipper winner stands at Darley Victoria this spring at a fee of $11,000.
