Daily Debutants

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday July 4
The end of the season is fast approaching and there are some well bred two year-olds stepping out on Wednesday looking to put a win on the board in preparation for spring campaigns including the record priced Dundeel colt from champion filly Miss Finland.

Nordicus lights up the sale ringFeatured in this Juvenile Trial Watch story (click here to read), two year-old colt Nordicus is an acceptor for race two at Canterbury and will be ridden by Blake Shinn.

A $900,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Arrowfield draft, Nordicus is trained by Bjorn Baker and is the most expensive yearling sired by Dundeel.

Also in the same race is another Juvenile Trial Watch horse in Sneaking to Win (read about him here) the half-brother by Snitzel to four-time Group I winner Appearance. Trained by Peter and Paul Snowden he will be ridden by James Mcdonald.

At Sandown, race two features some more interesting two year-old colts highlighted by Oceanity, a $1million Inglis Easter purchase from the Arrowfield draft for Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock / CB Bloodstock / Griffiths Racing.

Trained by Robbie Griffiths, Oceanity is a three-quarter brother to ill-fated Group I producing sire Beneteau and is from Alinghi’s full stakes-placed sister Slice of Paradise.
