Sizzling Winner Salutes Again

Promising Sizzling two year-old The Fire Trap made it two wins from three starts when taking out the $70,000 Butler McDermott Law Classic at the Sunshine Coast on Saturday.

SizzlingTrained by Matthew Dunn, The Fire Trap won on debut at Ipswich in May and was then a close fourth at the same track on June 16.

He overcame a wide gate to forge clear and win this 1200 metre assignment by half a length and has now won $66,000 for his lucky group of owners.

An $80,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale purchase from the Lyndhurst Farm draft for his trainer and Neil Jenkinson, The Fire Trap is the first winner for Rasteira, a well related Flying Spur mare from the family of Group winning fillies Tulip, Musidora and Sacred Eye.

He is one of six winners for his young Newgate Farm based sire, who also has four stakes horses to his credit, three of them placed in Group races in Sizzling Belle, Secret Blaze and Sizzling Ace..

A Group I winning son of champion sire Snitzel, Sizzling stands at Newgate this spring at a fee of $16,500.
