One to Watch - Wyong

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday June 26
A graduate of the 2017 Inglis Ready2Race Sale looks a bright prospect for leading Central Coast trainer Kim Waugh after scoring at Wyong on Tuesday.

Trumbull as a yearlingTwo year-old Darci Brahma gelding Trumbull was third on debut at Wyong back in March and was having his first run back from a spell in the juvenile maiden over 1100 metres.

He was sent out a short priced favourite and always looked the winner, cruising to the line to win by three quarters of a length for Jean Van Overmeire.

Kim Waugh revealed the youngster was bought from the Inglis Ready2Race Sale, sight unseen on the recommendation of Melanie O'Gorman who prepared him for sale.

O'Gorman paid $65,000 for him out of the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale from the Sledmere Stud draft and then re-offered him to make $125,000 when he was snapped up by Waugh.

Trumbull is a half-brother to Group II winner Hard Merchandize and is the second winner from Pride and Passion, a winning daughter of champion broodmare sire Encosta de Lago from Golden Slipper winner Calaway Gal.
