Triple Crown Seek Success in Group One Finale

TRIPLE CROWN'S flying filly Moss Trip will look to end her campaign on a high as she bids for victory in the final Group 1 of the season, the Tatts Tiara at Doomben.

Moss TripA winner of the Group 3 James Carr Stakes and $500,000 Inglis Guineas at Scone already this preparation, the three-year-old filly opened her Queensland venture with a close-up third in the Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes at Doomben and is a $10 chance to win a maiden Group 1 on Saturday.

Her previous taste of Group 1 level resulted in a fifth place finish in the Surround Stakes when beaten less than a length and a half by three-time Group 1 winner Shoals, and her owners have a fresh appetite for another crack at Group 1 success.

Purchased for $32,000 as a yearling, Moss Trip has now earned over $500,000 in prizemoney and landed Triple Crown's 27th Group-race win since 2010 with victory in the James Carr in April.

Brenton Avdulla remains on board after landing the Inglis Guineas on the daughter of Mossman, and he'll be charged withnavigatinga path toGroup 1 success after drawing barrier 21.

Co-trainer Peter Snowden has been thrilled with her progress this preparation.

"She looks particularly well up there," said Snowden. "I went up to see her on Tuesday and she looked fantastic, she really has settled in well here.

"She worked very strongly that morning in her last piece of fast work before Saturday. She was very sharp.

"We need a bit of luck from the draw but she measured up very well in the Dane Ripper last time out and very much deserves to take her chance here."
