Something for Everyone in Current gavelhouse Australia Auction

Media Release - Sunday June 17

The current gavelhouse Australia catalogue has something for everyone including pin-hookers, people looking for racing prospects and breeders.

Zebedee weanling coltA weanling colt at Lot 1 holds particular appeal for those looking young-stock to pin-hook. By juvenile sire sensation in the United Kingdom, Zebedee, the colt is out of eight-time winning Dubawi mare Eureka Dubai and is described as a muscular, powerful and correct individual.

In 2017 Zebedee's weanling colts averaged $52,000 while this year his 23 yearling colts averaged $66,000 with four of these bought as weanlings and sold as yearlings to average $100,000.

This could be one of the few remaining weanling colts by Zebedee to be offered by auction prior to the yearling sales series.

Professionally weaned and educated by DPR Breaking's Dan Robinson, this colt has been given a great head start in life and with his reasonable reserve, is a genuine pin-hook proposition.

King River is a Melbourne city winner who is genuinely offered for sale to make way for his owner's large number of young-stock ready to enter training.

By Haradasun, he relishes to soft tracks over winter and you would expect there to be further improvement with this horse a great prospect for a trainer aspiring to saddle up a Saturday class horse with the potential of a quick return.

Lot 13, Gifted Fortune in foal to the well-received Divine Prophet is offered as part of ongoing reduction sale. Mares in foal to Divine Prophet sold up to $300,000 and averaged $71,000 at the recent Gold Coast Sale with this mare from the family of Golden Slipper winner Burst, Be Bee and Éclair Choice. The resultant foal will be BOBS eligible.

Lot 16, Shibuya is offered in foal to Dream Ahead. Shibuya is a daughter of Hussonet and a half-sister to the multiple Group winner Hurried Choice. Closely related to Miss Darcey, Shibuya is the dam of two foals of racing age with the first foal Shibuya Crossing a multiple winner.

Shibuya has a rising two year old by Smart Missile and last year foaled a Foxwedge colt with both stallions boasting a high percentage of winners to runners. Shibuya could prove a lucrative investment given mares in foal to Dream Ahead sold for up to $130,000 at the recent Gold Coast breeding stock sale.

Also included in the 18-Lot catalogue are other racing prospects and empty mares. Bidding closes from Lot 1 at 7pm AEST on Monday 18 June. Register online at www.gavelhouse.com to bid or call +61396144882 for more information.
