100 for Smart Missile

Tara Madgwick - Friday June 15
New to Twin Hills Stud this spring, Smart Missile passed the milestone of siring his first seasonal century of winners with a smart two year-old winner from the Gerald Ryan stable on Friday.

Smart MissileResuming from a spell and gelded after his initial two start preparation last year, Nuke was prepared for his return with two recent trials and was a short priced favourite for the $30,000 King's Hall Jewellers Goblet for juveniles at Dubbo.

Ridden by James Innes Jr, he settled off the pace and found the line strongly to win the 1110 metre dash by half a length.

A $75,000 Inglis Classic purchase from the Newhaven Park draft for Blueblood Thoroughbreds, Nuke is the second winner for Hoist, a winning Zeditave mare from the family of Australia Horse of the Year Might and Power.

Smart Missile is the leading Australian third crop sire by winners with 100 winners of $5.5 million and is second to only So You Think by earnings.

He has also sired eight stakes horses headed by Group II winner I'll Have a Bit and juvenile stakes-winner Irish Bet.

Smart Missile is well priced at $13,200 and is sure to generate huge interest in the south west of New South Wales as a proven source of metropolitan winners and stakes horses.
