Following the paths of graduates like Darci Brahma, Dunkel, Burgundy, Tavi Time, Mehzebeen, and many more, and buyers will have exclusive access to another beautifully bred crop of Pencarrow yearlings during Karaka 2026.

18 yearlings will sell across Book 1 that takes place Sunday 25 and Monday 26 January 2026, while six yearlings will be offered in Book 2 on Tuesday 27 January.

Buyers will have the opportunity to purchase progeny from blue-blooded Pencarrow mare lines, by sires Ace High, Dundeel, Ocean Park, Justify, Proisir, Pride of Dubai, Satono Aladdin, Savabeel, Super Seth, Tarzino, and young sires such as Ardrossan, Circus Maximus, Hello Youmzain, Toronado, U S Navy Flag, and first season sire Profondo.

Appropriately, the draft gets underway with a colt by Super Seth – the sire of last season’s Pencarrow-bred Australian Guineas (1600m) hero Feroce and Queensland Derby (2400m) winner Maison Louis.

Lot 4 - Super Seth colt from Navy Beach.

Catalogued as Lot 4, the colt is a half-brother to four winners including Wellington Cup (3200m) winner Wolfgang (NZ) (Puccini) and the stakes-placed Naval Fleet (NZ) (Declaration Of War).

Lot 68 is a Satono Aladdin (Jpn) colt from Rasa Lila.

Lot 68 is by Satono Aladdin out of the outstanding Rasa Lila (NZ) (Darci Brahma), who won seven races including the Group Two Travis Stakes (2000m) and Group Three Cuddle Stakes (1600m). She also placed in the Group One Windsor Park Plate (1600m) and Easter Handicap (1600m).

Lot 199 is a Satono Aladdin (Jpn) colt from Topkapi.

Lot 199 is another colt by Satono Aladdin out of Topkapi (NZ) (Tavistock), a winning daughter of the Group Two winner and Group One-placed Dolmabache (NZ) (Redoute’s Choice). He comes from the family of Group One-performed male Pencarrow graduates Darci Brahma (NZ) (Danehill), Burgundy (NZ) (Redoute’s Choice) and Maison Louis (NZ) (Super Seth).

Lot 426 is a Hello Youmzain (Fr) colt from Floating Heart.

New Zealand’s leading first-season stallion of 2024-25, Hello Youmzain, is the sire of Lot 426 – a colt out of Floating Heart (NZ) (Encosta De Lago). Herself a two-time winner on the track, Floating Heart is a daughter of Group Three winner Amaryllis (NZ) (Red Ransom).

In a rare opportunity, Pencarrow will also offer six fillies at Karaka, with five in Book 1 and one in Book 2.

Lot 365 is a Proisir filly from Cote D'Or.

Perhaps the highest-profile filly in the draft is Lot 365, who is a half-sister to last season’s Group One Queensland Derby (2400m) winner Maison Louis (NZ) (Super Seth). She is by Proisir out of Cote D’Or (NZ) (Makfi), who herself won eight races including the Matamata Cup (1600m) and is a half-sister to the Group Two winner and Group One-placed Dolmabache (NZ) (Redoute’s Choice) along with Group Three winner Pure Elegance (NZ) (Redoute’s Choice). Cote D’Or is the dam of three foals to race, all winners.

Pencarrow will be parading at Karaka from Tuesday 20 January and welcomes all prospective buyers to view their class of 2026. For more information, contact Leon Casey at +64274901325 or email office@pencarrowstud.co.nz
