$575,000 Filly Puts Spotlight on Satono Aladdin

Tara Madgwick - Thursday January 15

A Group I winning sprinter miler by Deep Impact, Satono Aladdin (Jpn) is already a G1 producing sire and is the equal most represented of all sires at Karaka 2026 with 54 entries and Australian buyers have been given a taste of things to come at Magic Millions.

On Thursday morning, astute Victorian bloodstock agent Sheamus Mills purchased the Widden Stud consigned Satono Aladdin filly from Legramor for $575,000.

$575,000 Satono Aladdin (Jpn) filly from Legramor.

A half-sister to Group III winner Public Attention from a daughter of Champion NZ 3YO Filly Katie Lee, the filly is what you might expect to find in New Zealand.

“Satono Aladdin is a horse on the rise, I suppose. Interesting that they have crept in to the Australian market now,” said Sheamus Mills.

“I noticed one of Segenhoe’s yesterday made $400,000 and there’s a few more in the catalogue.

“We are a fillies syndicate and the mare has already had a good one. I notice they paid a bit of money for a Tarzino out of the mare last year and I believe they’ve got a good opinion of that horse.

“She is typical of the Satonos in that, in my opinion, they get better as they go on if you leave them alone.

“It is a breed that I’ve been keeping an eye on. She’s probably out of one of the better mares he’s covered, I would have thought.”

As you can see in the table below, fans of Satono Aladdin will be spoiled for choice when they get to Karaka at the end of this month.
