$1.2million Snitzel Colt to James Harron Bloodstock

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday January 14

When legendary sire Snitzel passed away last year it always meant his yearlings would be in hot demand at sales in 2026 and that is playing out at the Gold Coast with his third individual million dollar colt arriving late on Wednesday at Magic Millions.

Consigned and bred by Rosemont Stud, the colt is the second foal of Group I ATC Coolmore Classic winner Krone and was snapped up by James Harron Bloodstock Colt Partnership/Tony Fung Colts.

$1.2million Snitzel colt from Krone.

The same partnership have so far signed for five colts at this sale and this guy is the most expensive so far.

“Lovely colt, he was one of our picks across the board with all the team, ourselves and TFI, everyone just loved him,” said James Harron.

“He’s an athletic horse, Krone was obviously very successful on the track, a very sound, consistent mare so he was a great package.

“We’re very happy to get him.”

Harron believes he has the attributes to be out and running at two.

“I think he’ll be early. He just very light on his feet, he doesn’t carry a lot of excess, he’s just very easy on himself, a real quality colt,” he said.

“(He’s) really elastic in how he moves and just how he gets about the ground, so I get the impression he’ll just skip across the ground and be one of those really athletic type of racehorses. He really caught the eye from the very beginning.”

The best offspring of Northern Meteor stallion Eurozone from the family of Group I winners Universal Prince, Universal Queen and Think It Over, Krone had a filly by Wootton Bassett (GB) last spring before going to Switzerland.
