New Zoustar SW in Hong Kong

Tara Madgwick - Monday January 5

After four days of racing in 2026, Zoustar already has two stakes-winners on the board with his Northern Hemisphere bred son Stellar Express (FR) taking out the Group III Bauhinia Sprint Trophy (1000m) at Sha Tin on Sunday.

A three time winner in France for Princess Zahra Aga Khan, he was then sold to Hong Kong and is now with John Size.

He was a last start winner and with a light weight in this assignment, Stellar Express kicked away for Andrea Atzeni to win by three lengths and has now won seven races with 11 placings from 35 starts.

He clocked a slick 55.85 seconds and has now had four wins at this course and distance.

“He seemed to leave nothing else to chance, he jumped cleanly and got to the front and just made one act of it,” said Size.

“He’s done that before, when he gets some favours on this track, down the outside, he seems to keep running – he certainly enjoys it.

“The light weight is going to help, but he looks like a track specialist over the course and distance.”

Stellar Express is the 75th stakes-winner for Zoustar and is the best of three winners from winning Shamardal mare Darinja, who comes from the family of Champion 3YO Filly Darjina.

Zoustar has 34 entries for Magic Millions.
