One to Watch – Gold Coast

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday June 6
Leading Queensland trainer Tony Gollan took the wraps of his highly rated two year-old So You Think filly at the Gold Coast on Wednesday and you can't help thinking he believes she might be a classic contender at the Brisbane Winter Carnival next year.

Light Up the Room as a yearlingWith three barrier trial wins at her only previous public outings, Light Up the Room was sent our favourite for the 1200 metre juvenile maiden and hot the line with a late rush to win by a length.

"She's a filly I have a lot of time for," said Gollan.

"She has a deep pedigree and will get a lot further next season, 2000 metres and maybe further."

A $120,00 Magic Millions purchase from the Torryburn draft for John Foote Bloodstock/ Gollan Racing, Light Up the Room is the first winner for smart metro winning Redoute's Choice mare Aliberani, a sibling to stakes-placed Imvula and African Rainbow and grand-daughter of Group I AJC Australian Oaks winner Savana City.

It's a big Black Type family and Light Up the Room may add to the family success as her classic season unfolds.

So You Think has had an outstanding season siring seven Australian stakes-winners headed by Group I winners D'Argento and Sopressa.

The dual Cox Plate winner stands at Coolmore this spring at a fee of $44,000.
