Quality Tasmanian Yearling Catalogue Now Online

Media Release - Thursday December 4

The auction renowned for producing world class racehorses at value prices is ready to do it all again following today's online release of the 2026 Magic Millions Tasmanian Yearling Sale catalogue.

$4million earner and Tasmanian Yearling Sale graduate Mystic Journey. A 3/4 sister is on offer in 2026.

With extreme sire power and strong support from the local industry, the 2026 edition of the Tassie sale is ready to kick away the careers of racing's next stars of the track.

As well as progeny by all of the leading locally based Tasmanian sires there are also youngsters by the likes of Artorius, Brutal, Capitalist, Earthlight, Extreme Warrior, Hanseatic, Home Affairs, Nicconi, Paulele, Pinatubo, Shamus Award, Stay Inside, Tiger of Malay and dozens more represented.

The catalogue features 125 lots of the finest yearlings from the Apple Isle to sell from 11am on Monday, February 23 at Quercus Park on the outskirts of Launceston.

"I have enjoyed working with the breeders in Tasmania who have really got behind the sale and supported it like never before," Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch said.

"We have a great line up of yearlings - a number of significant lots by high class stallions - buyers will be impressed."

"The sale each and every year churns out a number of black type performers both across Tasmania and the mainland - recently the sale has done a remarkable job with a number of good winners in Hong Kong led by Bundle Award," Bowditch added.

A former famous graduate of the sale was $4 million plus earner, the now Japanese based mare Mystic Journey. The 2026 catalogue includes a three quarter sister to the superstar in the Armidale Stud draft.

Other well related lots include (at least half) relations to the likes of Still a Star, I'll Have a Bit, Tango's Daughter, Durazzo, Yum, Celavi, Greatham Boy, The Spirit of Zero and Mystical Pursuit.

Also featuring in the line up are youngsters from stakes winners including Mirjulisa Lass, Eperdument, Life on the Wire, Black 'n' Tough and Testamarriage.

The build up to the sale will be complemented by a thrilling twilight Magic Millions Tasmanian Raceday on February 6 - which this year will be held for the first time at Hobart's Elwick Racecourse.

The card, which also includes the Tasmanian Derby, will feature the running of the $85,000 Magic Millions Tasmanian 2YO Classic (plus $10,000 Racing Women's Bonus) and the $75,000 Magic Millions Tasmanian 3YO & 4YO Classic.
