Yulong Swoop on Within the Law Shares on MM Digital

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday November 26

Two shares in Bjorn Baker and Darby Racing's star three-year-old filly Within the Law were well sought after in the Magic Millions Digital Sale (21-26 November) which concluded today with Yulong buying back into a filly they bred and sold as a yearling.

Already a Group Two winner and twice Group One placed, the daughter of Lucky Vega is being set at Autumn Carnival features by Baker after a strong spring campaign.

The two shares, at 6.5 and 5 per cent, were both snapped up by Highway Farm (aka Yulong) , for $85,000 and $80,000 respectively.

Some 80 bids were received on the Within the Law shares proving just how popular and well regarded the triple stakes winner is.

Yulong also own Contract Signed, the dam of Within the Law, and she produced a full brother to the star filly in October.

Today concluded the second Magic Millions Digital Sale and feedback from vendors and buyers was very positive.

There were plenty of great results across other lots in the sale with leading Adelaide trainer Will Clarken delighted with the interest in his three tried lots.

"We got heaps of traction and had plenty of people ringing," Clarken said. "We'll definitely be putting more horses through the platform moving forward."

A number of shares in Bennett Racing syndicated racehorses were also offered and sold across the day with strong interest.

"We were very happy with the results on behalf of our clients," Nathan Bennett noted. "The team at Magic's were in constant communication throughout and the platform looks great."

The well related Gioia River, a sister to recent VRC Oaks placegetter After Summer, was sold for $30,000 to Malcolm Gladwell. She was offered by John Shelton Racing.

The beautifully related Hot Affair, an unraced daughter of Too Darn Hot, was popular with the unreserved offering selling for $18,000 to Warwick Racing.

"We received strong interest for the shares in Within the Law from across Australia as well as multiple clients from China and the United States who actively bid which is extremely encouraging," Magic Millions Head of Digital Bryce Bevan said.

"There were other great results such as Gioia River, Hot Affair, as well as the Bennett Racing shares."

"Overall, we are very pleased with the results, we will work to get more over the line in the coming days and this sale adds to the momentum we are building moving forward."

"We already have a couple of significant entries confirmed for our next sale (5-12 December) that will be announced in the coming days, with online entries opening publicly for that sale tomorrow," Bevan added.
