2YO Flyer for Sepoy

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday May 23

Anjana as a yearlingThe Darren Weir trained filly Anjana won her debut at Wangaratta earlier this month, but stepped it up a notch when blitzing her rivals to win as she pleased at her second start in an open juvenile event over 1200 metres.

She revelled in the heavy ground, powering clear to win by six lengths as favourite keeping her unbeaten record intact.

A $34,000 Inglis Classic purchase for Darren Weir/ Roll the Dice Racing, Anjana was bred and sold by Bert Vieira of Trapeze Artist fame.

Th speedy grey is the third winner from Further, a More Than Ready (USA) half-sister to Group III Elusive Touch from Group III winner Shelbourne Lass.

She owes her grey colouring to fourth dam Janzone, a daughter of legendary grey New Zealand based sire Sovereign Edition (IRE).

SepoyBowness Stud as agent for Bert Vieira sold a yearling full sister to Anjana at the 2018 Adelaide Magic Millions for $47,500.

Sepoy has had a good season as the sire of dual Group I winner Alizee and Group III winning juvenile Marcel from Madrid as well as six other stakes perfomers.
