The $160,000 Max Lees Classic (900m) is a spring scamper for juveniles at the standalone Newcastle meeting on Saturday that invariably produces a good contest and with 12 runners that are all unraced the Sale Mail and trial form will be the guide.

A couple of recent metropolitan trial winners are engaged including the Peter Snowden trained Russian Revolution colt Seeiaye, who has drawn the coveted gate one.

Also the well-bred Snitzel colt Tenenbaum from the Brad Widdup stable. He is the most expensive runner having been bought from Inglis easter for $750,000.

A couple of well bred fillies to keep an eye on are the Chris Waller trained Jaipur Maison (Zousain), a full sister to Group winning filly that was passed in and retained by her breeder Richard Pegum.

Also the Michael Freedman trained Exceed and Excel filly Mystical, a $425,000 Magic Millions purchase from a family that is all about 2YO stakes-winners.
