Closer Look at Written Tycoon – He’s Not Going Quietly

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday November 11

Declining potency in terms of racetrack results in their offspring occurs frequently with even the best stallions as they move into the twilight years and the lessening of opportunity through declining fertility often exacerbates the issue, but in the case of Written Tycoon he’s not going quietly.

Now aged 23, he has hit the fertility hurdle in the last couple of years with his once robust fertility now a shadow of that. His current yearling crop numbers just 44 with 12 of them entered for Magic Millions and 10 of those are in the draft of his current owners Yulong.

His current crop of 3YOs delivered it’s first G1 winner last Saturday and she looks like being something right out of the box.

Well Written kept her unbeaten record intact when taking the G1 New Zealand 1000 Guineas in a canter justifying the decision of Yulong to purchase into the filly after she won her first wo starts. Read about her here.
