Inglis Digital - Darby Swoop on Amazing Eagle for $310,000

Media Release - Wednesday October 22

Scott Darby believes today’s Inglis Digital sale-topper Amazing Eagle (Capitalist) can continue along the same successful mould as the likes of former online Darby acquisitions Robusto, Caballus and Imperial Force and progress on to become a future racetrack star.

Darby has had endless positive results when purchasing tried racehorses off Inglis Digital.

Among a plethora of their successful online purchases are Robusto – a $160,000 Inglis Digital buy which has since won the $2m The Ingham as well as another Stakes race - Caballus ($315,000 Inglis Digital buy) which is a Stakes winner since purchase and Imperial Force ($285,000), now a dual winner and G2 placed.

Another new acquisition Mayfair ($310,000 Inglis Digital buy) ran third in the $1million Silver Eagle at his first start in the Darby colours last Saturday and has the $10million Golden Eagle now in his sights.

Today’s purchase of Amazing Eagle – which will be trained by Bjorn Baker - in the October (Late) Sale for a sale high $310,000 has Darby hopeful of a repeat outcome.

“It’s been absolute gold,’’ Darby said of his Inglis Digital success stories.

“I’m actually sitting here doing the video promotion now and we call it ‘Inglis Digital gold!’

“Even Bjorn has grabbed 10% of Amazing Eagle, that shows how much he likes him. We’ll look to race him next week or the week after in Sydney and hopefully get an immediate return for owners.

“We think he’ll improve off his first-up run and while he’s an entire, we’ll try and take him through his grades and then line up in a G1 in the autumn all going well.’’

Among Darby’s other purchases today was the undefeated 4YO Gatekeeper (Justify), which they secured for $105,000.

Gatekeeper was part of an unreserved racehorse reduction from Coolmore - all which sold to separate buying groups – which also included Sarapo ($255,000), Congressman ($95,000) and Constellation ($65,000).

“We’re delighted with the results today, as per usual when we offer our stock on Inglis Digital,’’ Coolmore’s John Kennedy said.

“Coolmore has utilised Inglis Digital for many years now and believe it’s a great platform that continues to deliver great results.

“It’s really good that the four horses have ended up with four different owners, yet another sign of the broad range of buyers Inglis Digital has generated over the years, and we wish all them all the best with the horses moving forward.’’

Other lots to sell well in today’s October (Late) Sale include Emirate ($265,000 to ARPL Racing) and Pacific Cross ($120,000 to Walnut Farm), which took to 37 the number of lots to sell for $200,000 or more on Inglis Digital this year and 116 the number of $100,000+ lots in 2025 so far.

In total today’s sale grossed $3,747,450.

The successful sale capped of a monumental week for the world’s leading online sales platform, which celebrated the victory of Saturday’s G1 Caulfield Cup with star Inglis Digital graduate Half Yours for Tony and Calvin McEvoy, who purchased him last year for $305,000 with Damon Gabbedy’s Belmont Bloodstock.

Half Yours is now a $6 Ladbrokes equal favourite for the G1 Melbourne Cup, to be run at Flemington on Tuesday, November 4.

Entries are now open for the Inglis Digital November (Early) Online Sale and will remain so until midnight next Wednesday, October 29.

The Sale will run from Friday October 31 and finish on Wednesday November 5.
