Young Cambridge Stud based Hello Youmzain (Fr) added a new stakes -winner to his tally in France over the weekend with two year-old colt Dostoievsky winning the Listed Prix Saraca at Chantilly and on Monday produced a promising maiden winner at Kembla.
Trained by Richard and Will Freedman, three year-old filly Luna Bay was having her second start following a debut second at the same track last month.
She stepped up in distance to 1500m and was doing her best work on the line to win by a head for Keagan Latham.
A $150,000 Karaka Book 1 purchase from Trelawney Stud for Richard and Will Freedman / Pinhook Bloodstock International, Luna Bay is a filly with a pedigree as a half-sister to Group II winner Pareanui Bay.
She is the third winner from Group III winning Flying Spur mare Okahu Bay, who comes from the family of Group I winner Calveen and Group winners Kosi Bay, Fireworks, First Impressions and Thalassophile.
Trelawney Stud will offer her full sister at the NZB Ready to Run Sale as Lot 14.
She is one of eight entries in the sale for Hello Youmzain, who has now sired seven stakes-winners from his first two crops.
