Invincible Filly Snares $100,000 Inglis Bonus

Tara Madgwick - Thursday September 25

The least expensive filly by champion sire I Am Invincible sold at Inglis Easter in 2024, Wear the Crown always looked to have been well bought at $260,000 by Seib/Racing / Champion Thoroughbreds and she set about repaying her purchase price at Goulburn on Thursday.

Having her second race start in the 1300m maiden, the Danielle Seib trained Wear the Crown was sent off favourite with Alyssa Collett to ride.

Despite being held up for a run in the straight, Wear the Crown was finally able to get clear just in time to surge home and score a head win that earned her a lucrative $100,000 Inglis Xtra maiden bonus.

Consigned by Yarraman Park, Wear the Crown runs for a big ownership group in the Champion Thoroughbreds colours and is the first foal of Group III winning Snitzel mare Macroura, a three-quarter sister to triple Group I winner and $6million earner Sunshine in Paris.

Wear the Crown was a $260,000 Inglis Easter purchase.

It’s a family bristling with young mares being bred to the best stallions and Wear the Crown promises to be a fine investment whatever follows on the racetrack and her trainer Danielle Seib believes this win is just the beginning.

“We had our eye on this race. Obviously, she is bred to be quite quick, so it was a really good effort by the whole team to have her suitable to run 1300m second up,” said Danielle Seib.

“As I mentioned pre-race, you know, it was a country-only grade 1300 on your home track, so we had good representation.

“It's brilliant to knock that off with a horse of this breeding and this calibre, she's a big step up for our stable and a testament to both my team at home for continuing to prepare really nice horses and also my clients and in particular, Jason Abrahams, who continues to support me.

“I think if you had asked me at the beginning of the preparation if she would make it to the races this time around, I would have said no, but everything we do with her shows she's just a cut above most horses that I've had in the stable.

“She's very intelligent. Once she's had exposure to something, she really improves.”
