No Royal Ascot for Shoals

Tom Walter - Tuesday May 8

There will be no UK sojourn this winter for three-time Group I winner Shoals with the Anthony Freedman Racing website confirming that domestic targets have taken priority.

ShoalsShoals, currently the most valuable three-year-old filly in the country, was tipped to embark on a trip to Royal Ascot or the Group I Diamond Jubilee Stakes (6f) after demoralising her opposition in last Saturday's Group I Ubet Classic (Robert Sangster Stakes) atMorphettville.

But the filly's owners Jonathan Munz and John Messara have decided againsttravelling to Ascot and focus on attracting bids from slot-holders forThe Everest(1200m) later this year.

The daughter of Fastnet Rock is likely to get the chance to further enhance her recordin Saturday week's Group I The Goodwood (1200m) back at Morphettville before a potential Everest campaign.

It is understood that a trip to Royal Ascot next season remains on the agenda which could also involve a mating with a European stallion – most likely Galileo.
