Mulberry Racing Purchase $550,000 Colt at Keeneland September

Australian based Mulberry Racing featured on the buyers list during the first session of the Keenland September Yearling Sale purchasing a colt by Quality Road for $550,000.

Mulberry Racing made headlines earlier this year when purchasing a slot for The Everest and are behind a progressive stable of horses prepared by Hawkesbury trainer Brad Widdup, who is in Kentucky to help with their US foray into the market.

Offered by Indian Creek as agent for Stonestreet Farm, the colt is a half-brother to stakes-winner American Rascal and is the third foal of Group I Royal Ascot King’s Stand Stakes winner Lady Aurelia, a brilliantly fast and precocious daughter of influential sire Scat Daddy.

The colt is likely to remain in the US for now with Brendan Walsh to train.
