Fully Lit Back in Winning Form

Tara Madgwick - Sunday August 17

Talented Hellbent gelding Fully Lit won the $2million Inglis Millennium as a juvenile, but has had his issues since then with his owners repaid for their faith and patience when he returned at Rosehill on Saturday to score a commanding victory.

Trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Fully Lit has been thereabouts in recent runs and with race fitness on his side gave Adam Hyeronimus an easy steer when romping to a five length win.

“I came here today thinking that may just be the end of the prep having had a few runs, being deep into the campaign and hitting a few heavy tracks,” said co-trainer Adrian Bott.

“Maybe we've got to look at something if he's only just starting to hit his straps now. We will see how he does. He hadn't quite recaptured that 2-year-old form yet, which does sometimes take them a season or two, but I feel he is ready to go on with it now and I'm sure he'll take a bit of confidence from it.”

Fully Lit was a $60,000 Inglis Classic purchase for Red Fox Racing from the Glenlogan Park draft and is a half-brother to Group III winner The Novelist from good producer Sunlit, a half-sister to Group II winner Vo Heart from the family of dual Group I winner Magical Miss.

Fully Lit has three wins from 10 starts and over $1.4million in prizemoney proving a great investment for his big team of owners.

His dam Sunlit is due to foal to Hellbent’s sire I Am Invincible this spring.
