Shinzo Filly the First Foal for Torryburn Stud

Tara Madgwick - Monday July 21

We’ve still got over a week before the official horse’s birthday on August 1, but our new season foal are already appearing and Torryburn Stud have today announced the arrival of a filly by Golden Slipper winner Shinzo.

One of the first mares to be covered by Snitzel’s brilliant son Shinzo at Coolmore last spring, Apamurra (USA) produced a filly in the early hours of Monday morning and she wasted no time getting to her feet.

Shinzo filly from Apamurra (USA) is the first to be born at Torryburn Stud this spring.

Described as ‘picture perfect’, the stylish bay filly is the seventh foal of Apamurra, who has had five foals to race for four winners, two of them metro winners Podium and Nostalgia.

Apamurra might have the USA suffix, but she has an Aussie pedigree and was bred by Darley in the Northern Hemisphere and is by Lonhro from Group II winner Alizes, the grand-dam of Group I winners Alizee and Astern as well as leading young sire Tassort.

Snitzel has already worked well with this female family to produce Group III winner Amur and stakes-winner Willinga Beast.

Shinzo stands at a fee of $55,000, click for more info.

Shinzo covered 218 mares last spring, so we can expect to see many more of his foals this spring and his fee remains at $55,000.
