Sooboog the Value Son of Snitzel

Media Release - Tuesday April 24
Sooboog is hot off the back of an incredible first season at stud where he covered 151 high quality mares including the likes of Bella Sunday, the dam of Group 1 Golden Slipper, Blue Diamond Stakes & Sires Produce runner-up Oohood.

Through these types of mares he has laid a strong foundation which will provide around 125 foals hitting the ground this season, as the only first season son of Snitzel in the Hunter Valley last year these will no doubt be met by yearling buyers with much anticipation.

SooboogWith such a strong start to his career, Kitchwin Hills have decided to maintain his service fee for the 2018 season at $13,200inc GST.

Comparatively sons of Snitzel in the Hunter Valley generally are carrying price tags far greater at stud,Sooboog offers great value for a precocious, well related son of a gun who if he stamps his stock will deliver everything Australian buyers look to, precocity and speed.

Kitchwin Hills Stud manager Michael Malone said "We have been blown away with the support shown for Sooboog right from the start, with people trying to get involved whether it be equity, breeding rights, nominations, literally whatever they could."

Sooboog's ownership group and breeding right holders include the biggest industry names with the likes of James Bester, Peter Moody, The Mitchell family and James Harron to name only a few.

Kitchwin Hills are very disappointed to report however that Counterattack, who stood his first season alongside Sooboog last year will not be returning to the Hunter Valley. His owner Geoff Grimish has decided to retain Counterattack in Germany where he shuttled to at the end of 2017, despite being well received and gaining good early support in the Hunter.

That confirms Sooboog will stand at Kitchwin in 2018 alongside the prolific producer Dane Shadow who is taking private bookings.

Given Sooboog's ownership structure, it is advisable to move quickly in securing the limited number of outside bookings that are made available.
