Aussie Interest at JRHA Sale Next Week – First foal of Golden Slipper Winner

The 2025 JRHA  Select Foal and Yearling Sale will be held next week in Japan on July 14 and 15 and as usual there are some interesting entries for Aussie racing fans with a significant number of our star mares at stud in Japan including the 2022 Golden Slipper winner Fireburn.

Yearlings – July 14

Lot 11 Colt Lord Kanaloa x Amphitrite, by Sebring

Fourth foal of Group I MRC Thousand Guineas winner Amphitrite, who is already the dam of a winner in Japan.

Lot 45 Colt Kitasan Black x Mosheen, by Fastnet Rock

My how time flies! Tenth foal of four time Aussie Group I winner Mosheen, who has had four winenrs in Japan and two of then stakes-winners in Group III winner Primo Scene and Listed winner Danon Ayers Rock.

Lot 90 Colt Saturnalia x Yankee Rose, by All American

Sixth foal of dual Group I winner Yankee Rose, the dam of three winners headed by Champion 2YO Filly and 3YO Filly Liberty Island, a four time G1 winenr and second in the G1Japan Cup.

Lot 444 Colt Suave Richard x Funstar, by Adelaide (IRE)

Second foal of Group I ATC Flight Stakes winner Funstar, a half-sister to Group I BRC Queensland Oaks winner Youngstar, also at stud in Japan and the dam of Group III winner Eri King, who was also fifth in the Japanese Derby this year.

Lot 358 Colt Kizuna x Jazz Etude, by I Am Invincible

Second foal of Jazz Etude, an Aussie bred yearling purchase for Katsumi Yoshida that was secured from Magic Millions for $650,000 in 2020 and won four races in Japan including a Listed victory.

Jazz Etude is a half-sister to Group III winner Mumbai Muse, who was bought by Kia Ora Stud at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale for $1.8million this year.

Lot 307 Colt Kingman x Lezoo, by Zoustar

OK this one is not from an Aussie bred mare, but he’s still a horse with real interest for Aussie’s being the only entry in the sale by outstanding UK sire Kingman and he is the first foal of Zoustar’s Champion European 2YO Filly Lezoo, who made 2.2million guineas at the Tattersalls December Mares Sale in 2023.

Fifth foal of Group I ATC Vinery Stud Stakes winner Single Gaze, the dam of one winner in Japan.
