Rich Hill Announce 2018 Fees

Rich Hill Stud are expecting new stallion Satono Aladdin to find widespread Australasian favour after setting his service fee for 2018.

Satono AladdinThe farm, in association with Shadai Stallion Station, will offer the Group One-winning son of sire sensation Deep Impact for $12,500 + GST.

"We believe that is outstanding value for a horse of his looks, pedigree and race record and we are extremely excited that Shadai have offered us the opportunity to establish this sire line in New Zealand.

"He will breed a restricted book and at that fee we would expect him to fill quite quickly. He's a quality individual who will be a great asset to the New Zealand breeding industry."

Out of Storm Cat's American Group Two-winning daughter Magic Storm, Satono Aladdin was the winner of eight races with his career highlight an outstanding performance to claim top honours in Japan's most prestigious mile - theGr.1Tokyo Yasuda Kinen (1600m).

"He had a great turn of foot and his time of 1:31.5 for the 1600m that day was amazing, just point-two of a second outside the race record,"Rich Hill Stud's John Thompson said.

Associate sire Vadamos, who has made such an impact since his arrival, will remain at $15,000 + GST.

"He received a great reception from breeders both in numbers and quality with 159 mares," Thompson said. "He was New Zealand's most popular first-season stallion."

ShockingDual Group One Melbourne Cup and Australian Cup winner Shocking will be offered in 2018 at a fee of $10,000 + GST.

"His career continues to grow both on the racetrack and in the sale ring. His only weanling filly at last week's Inglis sale in Sydney made A$62,500," Thompson said.

"Shocking has sired the Adelaide, Brisbane, Counties and Sandown Cup winners – he's fulfilling our expectations."

Proisir's fee will remain at $7000 + GST after a royal welcome from breeders.

"In his first three seasons he has averaged 130 mares," Thompson said. "He's been hugely popular and his first crop yearlings sold up to $160,000. He is at an exciting phase in his career."

Former New Zealand Horse of the Year Jimmy Choux's fee in 2018 will be $5000 + GST.

"He was a champion first season sire and he's having a great season with his three-year-olds, he's had 12 individual winners and four stakes performers," Thompson said.
