Aquis Leading Buyer at Inglis Broodmare Sale

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday April 17
At the close of trade on Tuesday, Aquis were the leading buyer at the Inglis Australian Broodmare Sale outlaying $636,000 on 14 lovely mares, plus another in partnership with Rothwell Park that will be covered by Invader.

Divine ProphetThe mares were highlighted by proven stakes producer Ennerdale (GB), the dam of Group winners Samara Dancer and Éclair Big Bang. She was purchased for $115,000 and is in foal to Samara Dancer's sire Hinchinbrook.

Aquis bid on many of the mares in foal to their young sires and also purchased three mares in foal to Divine Prophet and Kiss and Make Up, both top class sons of proven sires of sires Choisir and More Than Ready (USA).

"Whilst the Aquis stallion roster includes emerging and proven stallions, we also have young stallions with huge potential such as Divine Prophet and Kiss and Make Up," said Aquis CEO Shane McGrath.

"We believe in our stallions and are therefore supporting them and our clients in the ring by actively purchasing mares in foal to them from good families."

Aquis will follow a similar strategy at the Gold Coast for the Magic Millions National Sale, which will also mark the launch of the first offspring of Spill the Beans.

A brilliant son of champion sire Snitzel,
Spill the Beans is currently covering mares at the National Stud at Newmarket in the UK and has some 17 entries for the National Weanling Sale.

"What we have in our paddocks and from what we have seen from our client's foals, Spill The Beans is looking extremely promising and we are looking forward to getting involved in the action come May on the Gold Coast," McGrath added.
