Smart Missile to Stand at Twin Hills

Media Release - Sunday April 15

Smart Missile, Australia's leading third crop sire by winners, will stand at Twin Hills Stud in Cootamundra for the 2018 season at a fee of $13,200.

Smart MissileA brilliant two-year-old, Smart Missile was Australia's Champion First Season Sire, the leading second season sire by winners and again leads his generation in the number of winners achieved this season.

With 77 winners already in 2017/18, Smart Missile ranks in the top 20 of all stallions in Australia with less than three full crops to race. His ratio of winners to runners is superior to that of Lonhro, Medaglia d'Oro, More Than Ready and Star Witness.

Smart Missile's stakes winners and 19 stakes horses include the impressive G3-winning and G2-placed two-year-old Debellatio; G3-winning two-year-old and G2-placed three-year-old I'll Have A Bit and two-year-old stakes winners, Exocet and Sassy 'N' Smart.

His current two-year-olds include the smart colt Irish Bet who followed in the footsteps of Mossfun, Extreme Choice and She Will Reign when winning the Inglis Nursery (RL).

Smart Missile has been exceptionally well-supported by breeders and buyers during his stud career.

His 71 yearlings sold so far in 2018 have averaged $80,000 and have been purchased by some of Australia's best trainers and syndicators including Peter Snowden, Triple Crown, Darby Racing, Anthony Freedman and Gary Portelli.

Bred and raced by Gooree Park Stud, Smart Missile's eldest progeny are only four. He is by Fastnet Rock and is out of a half-sister to Northern Meteor, one of Mr. Cojuangco's most prolific families.

Oliver Tait, owner of Twin Hills Stud said, "We're thrilled that Gooree Park Stud has chosen to stand Smart Missile at Twin Hills Stud. Smart Missile is a young stallion who sits at the top end of the sires' lists. His progeny are attractive, precocious and fast. He gets a terrific number of winners and he has huge crops of yearlings and foals in the pipeline. Smart Missile is an accomplished young stallion and is great value."

Smart Missile will stand at a fee of $13,200 (inc.GST).
