She’s big and beautiful and on her way to Kia Ora Stud, who paid $1.1million for Written Beauty at the Magic Millions National Sale on Wednesday.

Offered in the Newgate Consignment, Written Beauty was presented with a positive test to their Golden Slipper winning sire Stay Inside and has a planned mating to another Golden Slipper winning sire in Farnan this spring.

A Group III winner by Written Tycoon, Written Beauty is a sibling to four other Group and Listed winners in Lite’n in my Veins, Hi World, Ducimus and Loveyamadly, who is the dam of Group III winner Immortal Love and stakes-winner I’mlovinya.

She has a heady mix of performance and pedigree that will make her a great addition at Kia Ora Stud.

“We couldn’t be happier to get her as it is very hard to pick up nice mares as they are attracting great money here,” said Shane Wright of Kia Ora Stud.

“She’s in foal to a nice up and coming stallion and as a physical, there was nothing better for us in the ring today.

“She’ll go straight to Farnan. He suits her very well and was bought with him in mind.”

Farnan has made a brilliant start to his stud career with 10 winners that include three Group winners – North England, King of Pop and Recuperativo – and has earned a fee increase this spring rising to $77,000.

“We couldn’t be happier with him and he’s got some good stakes winners already on the board and realistically he could already have had more stakes winners, but they keep quinellaing good stakes races… We’re our own worst enemy sometimes!” Wright said.

“We think he’s in a super position and he’s got a full book.”
