Invincible Fillies Quinella G2 Percy Sykes

Tara Madgwick - Saturday April 14
Yarraman Park's I Am Invincible showed why he was one of the most popular stallions at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale this week when his talented two year-old daughters Pure Elation and Fiesta fought out the finish of the $600,000 Group II ATC Percy Sykes Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.

Second to Estijaab in the Group II ATC Reisling Stakes before scoring an easy maiden win at Warwick Farm, the Peter and Paul Snowden trained grey was sent out favourite and showed her class with a decisive length and a quarter win over Fiesta in the 1200 metre sprint.

Pure Elation has been in work consistently for a long time having made her debut in late January, but will now get time to develop further after incurring a mandatory three-month ban for a slight bleed from both nostrils.

"She could be the best filly we have trained," Peter Snowden said.

"Nothing went right in Melbourne. My call was to give her a break and bring her back later, but Sir Owen said why not bring her back to Sydney and enjoy Sydney like she used to before.

"Her work has been great and she has responded well and I think she is an A-grade filly in the making."

I Am Invincible A $320,000 Inglis Premier purchase for Paul Moroney Bloodstock from the Swettenham Stud draft, Pure Elation runs for Sir Owen Glenn's Go Bloodstock and has won two of five starts earning over $550,000 in prizemoney.

The 31st stakes-winner for I Am Invincible, Pure Elation is the first foal of stakes-winning Hussonet (USA) mare Members Joy, who has a weanling colt by Toronado (IRE).

She was bought by the Newstar Partnership at the Inglis Chairmans Sale last year for $500,000 and was covered by Flying Artie last year.
