Impressive Group Three Winner for Choisir

Tara Madgwick - Saturday April 14
Quality Irish sprinter miler Psychedelic Fun made a winning seasonal return at Naas overnight, the four year-old son of Choisir scoring a dominant win in the Group III Gladness Stakes.

ChoisirPrepared by Ger Lyons, Psychedelic Funk tracked the leaders and then forged clear to win the seven furlong sprint on soft ground by more than two lengths.

"He's heavy and he has grown into some beast of a horse," said his trainer.

"He loves the ground, loves Naas; I'd love the Lockinge to be run in Naas! I think he deserves to go over here if conditions are right. Knowing our luck it'll dry up between now and then and it'll go against us but anything bar fast ground."

Already a Group III winner before this success, he was the overall record of five wins and five placings from 13 starts, so is super consistent and looks set for another good year.

Psychedelic Funk is the best of three winners from Galileo mare Parabola, a daughter of stakes-winner Zietory.

Choisir stands at Coolmore this spring at a fee of $29,700.
