Zabeel mare in foal to Vadamos for sale on gavelhouse.com

Breednet - Thursday April 12
First season sire Vadamos is represented by his first in-foal mare for sale on gavelhouse, com.

VadamosThe Group One winning son of Monsun, sire of Melbourne Cup winners Fiorente, Protectionist and Almandin, has been a welcome addition to the Kiwi stallion ranks, standing at Rich Hill Stud for the first time in the spring and commanding a $15,000 + GST service fee.

Such was his popularity, Rich Hill Managing Director John Thompson was forced to close his book off "Vadamos is one of the most exciting young stallions at stud in Australasia being the best bred and fastest son of outstanding international sire Monsun."

"We are confident he will pass on his own quality and physical presence to his first New Zealand crop of foals to be born this spring,"

"He was New Zealand's most popular among the 13 first season sires last year and ended up being oversubscribed with a quality book of 159 mares."

Racing into his five-year-old career Vadamos boasts longevity and soundness with his Gr.1
Prix Du Moulin de Longchamp (1600m) victory simply breath-taking. He ran his opponents into the ground, surging clear a long way from home to win with a comfortable margin.

Vadamos also performed with credit in Australia, with Group One fourth placings in the Cox Plate and Emirates Stakes.

At Lot 44 in the 59-strong catalogue, Laezeel is a daughter of champion sire and champion broodmare sire Zabeel and is a full sister to stakes-winner Laebeel who won the Matriach Stakes for Leon Corstens and was runner up in the Gr.1 Caulfield Cup. Laebeel has been a success at stud, producing two stakes winners in Larry's Never Late and Collar with this a family of prolific winners and only one dam fitting on the pedigree.

Laezeel's owner Ray Batten commented on the decision to send her to Vadamos and to offer the package for sale now "Vadamos has got an impressive pedigree, was an impressive racehorse and is a stunning individual."

"We took a share in him as I believe he's going to make a big impact as a stallion and as I think Laezeel is a very good cross with him on pedigree and physically."

"We only have the capacity to be breeding one a year and as we have a Rip Van Winkle filly out of Laezeel who we will retain, we thought now was a good time to put Laezeel on the market."

"She's a lovely mare, she's beautifully bred with a family who have been prolific in Cups race and her first two foals are winners so she has a lot going for her."

Final bids will start to be taken with Lot 1 from 7pm NZ time on Monday 16 April. Register online to bid at www.gavelhouse.com
